Paint Color Crush: Simply Seafoam
Anyone who knows me well knows that I love the color turquoise!
With the real estate market being so strong in Charleston right now, we decided to sell our original home here, which was built in 2007.
We tried to sell it when we moved to Oklahoma back in 2009, but that was the year the market majorly crashed. We’ve been renting it out all these years. The renters had done a number on it.
Long story short, we did a big refresh on it, and part of the included painting the formerly sun-faded dark gray doors in more fun, inviting color. I ultimately decided on Valspar’s Simply Seafoam.
This is our old house with the new door and shutter color. So much more “Charleston” than the old dark gray. (It’s been on the market for just over 24 hours and has had 14 showings already, yay!)
What else can I paint Simply Seafoam?
Because I loved how it turned out on the rental house so much, I decided I had to use it somewhere in our current house. The only place it really made sense (and that didn’t require HOA approval) was the door to the garage of our DIY Faux Brick Stenciled Patio.
Here’s how the door looked before:
And here’s how it looks now!
Even though a door knocker is unnecessary, I thought a Palm Tree one would be so cute on it, and I found this fabulous one on Amazon.
Some of the plants are faux, and some real. Can you tell which are which?
The painted doormat is a lovely Target find.
I was nervous that putting the Simply Seafoam next to our blue siding would be weird, but I love the beachy vibe it gives this space!
So I also ended up painting it on the double doors in the screened-in porch area.

You can read all about this project here. I did it back in April, and despite being a super high traffic area for us, it’s held up beautifully!
