Industrial Farmhouse Style Multipurpose Room. Come on in for a tour of our industrial-meets-farmhouse-style multipurpose loft!
Industrial Farmhouse Style Multipurpose Room
Welcome to our multipurpose room! It’s located on the second floor of our home, along with all three kids’ bedrooms. It opens up to our upper front porch and gets a lot of natural light.
The loft is where we have family movie nights, the kids (and hubby) play Xbox, we do our Peloton workouts, and, as of 2020 (aka the Year of Quarantine), it now has a small but functional office nook for my husband.
Side note: I didn’t link much in the text, but there is a comprehensive “shop this post” section is at the end of the blog post that gives the sources for most of the décor in this room.
The kids and my husband use this space the most, so I wanted to create a more casual, masculine vibe than we have on the main floor.
I also chose décor items that pay homage to Hubby’s career as a pilot in the Air Force.
I just L.O.V.E. the Phonetic Alphabet Wall Art. Joanna Gaines used on in a room in her Homebody Book. I hunted it down it and was over $1K. I found the one shown on Etsy for a fraction of the price!
The floor globe was my Grandpa Chuck’s. He passed away a long time ago, and it’s nice to have an heirloom that I can remember him by in our home.
The couch is one we bought from IKEA when we were stationed in Germany. It had a few more sections, but we had to go without them to make it work in this room. The couch has seen better days, but it’s so comfortable!
Just ask our GSD, Theo.
Both doors open up so you can let the breeze flow through. You know, when it’s not your typical Charleston weather (a bazillion degrees and 300% humidity outside). 😜
A little pic overload because I couldn’t decide which pics showed this space best…
Industrial Farmhouse Style Multipurpose Room: Office Nook
Finally, here’s a closer look at the Hubby’s new office nook. An open concept home is all fun and games until you’re all home ALLLLL the time.
He was working at our kitchen table, just a stone’s throw from my office, which has no doors. I’m pretty sure the neighbors can hear him when he’s on a conference call, so I had to create a legit workspace for him on the other floor, ha!

You can shop for the home décor items I used for our loft below. When my exact pieces weren’t still available, I chose a super similar option that will achieve the same aesthetic.
Wall Colors: Sherwin-Williams Web Gray and Agreeable Gray
