Functional & Feminine Home Office. A chic home office with plenty of organizational storage to keep it a tidy space to get creative.
Functional & Feminine Home Office
Welcome to my office! It’s where you can often find me with a cashew milk latte in one hand and an Apple Pencil in the other.
As a full-time creative blogger and lettering artist who works from home, having a dedicated space to work is necessary for me to be productive.
My office is the moment you walk into our front door, so it’s important to keep it über organized.
ORGANIZING A NEW SPACE
We move every one to three years. I’ve had offices the size of a closet to ones as big as half the top floor of our home (like I did in Germany).
My current space is a good-sized room, roughly 10 ft by 12 ft, but it’s still a lot smaller than my last office area, so organization and storage are a priority int his space.
I love all the windows in my latest home office. The natural light is excellent for all the photos I take for my blogs.
Starting with a Statement Piece
When I decorate any room, I typically start with one or two statement pieces that inspire the whole space. In my office, it was this desk that dreamy farmhouse-mixed-with-vintage-flair style I love so much!
Side note: When I posted these photos on Instagram, everyone wanted to know about the clock. It’s a free screensaver you can grab over a Fliqlo.com.
I went through several rugs before finding “the one” at good old Target!
The tufted bench provides a spot for guests to sit and also has hidden storage. I am obsessed with hiding the clutter in creative, pretty ways.
See all those wicker baskets around the room in the cabinets? They’re all full of clutter but you might never know it!
When one of my kids or dogs wants to hang out in here with me, we drag the PupRug in and they snuggle while I work.
Feminine home office organization: THE DREAMBOX
Opposite my desk is a DreamBox from Create Room Co. Since I don’t have a closet in this space, this aptly-named cabinet is dreamy for keeping all my art and creative supplies super organized.
I added two ScrapMaBox bins in the center of the Workbox for marker storage, and I love them!
You can read my full review of the DreamBox over on my lettering blog.

More DÉCOR DETAILS
Here are additional sources for items not linked above.
- Cube Shelving: I used a set of IKEA KALLAX shelves to store the bulk of my books.
- Printer Stand: I used the foldable IKEA ASKHOLMEN as my printer stand.
- Desk: I ordered the beautiful black and white Arnac Desk from Steven Shell Living.
- Walls: Agreeable Gray Paint by Sherwin-Williams
- Light Fixture: Kichler Barrington Anvil and Driftwood Art Deco light. I accidentally broke one of the glass shades when we installed the family room one, so we just omitted them, and I decided I prefer it without them. A happy accident!
I hope you enjoyed a peek into my Functional & Feminine Home Office!
