Happy Sunday! Sharing a few Charleston vibes from our hot, sticky walk downtown this morning. Even when I’m melting, this city has my heart. 💖

My level of introvert borderlines on hermit. The world and social media have felt especially loud these past few months. ⁣ ⁣ When life feels too loud, I get anxious and extra introvert-y. I have to focus on doing more of the things that create a sense of calm.⁣ ⁣ And so I’ve been quietly over here hiding behind books and finding joy in the little things.⁣ ⁣ Here are a few things I’ve been doing almost daily:⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ Morning devotion and mediation. I’ve been using 100 Days of Joy and Strength by @candacecbure. The journal pages are thick enough to do brush calligraphy in as an added bonus!⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ Making my workouts and healthy eating a top priority. For cardio, I do Peloton rides. For weights, I alternate between Liift4 and MM100 on BeachBody on Demand. To lose a few Quarantine pounds, I’m back on WW. It’s the only thing that works super well for me!⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ Wearing my favorite sundresses around the house, even though I have nowhere to go. I picked this sweet @shopbuddylove maxi up on sale up at a local boutique @bubblesgiftshoppe just a few days ago. I’m a sucker for off-the-shoulder styles (swipe to see another pic)! Plus, it has pockets! 🙌🏻⁣ ⁣ 4️⃣ Reading daily! The book I’m holding is “What you wish for” by @katherinecenter. There is a scene that had me laughing out loud and I LOVED it. This book is just what this year needed!⁣ ⁣ I’ve been making a habit of noting quotes or lines I love from books I read and these were the two that made my list from this book: ⁣ ⁣ 💖 “I’m telling you. I know all about darkness. That’s why I am so hell-bent, every damn day, on looking for the light.” ⁣ ⁣ 💖 “We made a choice to do joy on purpose. Not in spite of life’s sorrows. Finding safe ways to get out of the house has lead to making memories at some hidden little gems. I adored this quaint farm and garden shop we visited today! 🙌🏻 ⁣ ⁣ Swipe for a few more pics (including the sweet souvenirs my girls bought with their own money). We recently moved our chore and allowance system to getting them each a personalized @greenlightcard. The app makes it so easy to teach them about money and they were so proud to use their own debit cards for the first time.⁣ ⁣ (Not sponsored for the record. We just kept seeing their commercial on Hulu and decided it was time to replace our “Monopoly” style paper money system with something more age appropriate and digital for them. 😜)

Social distancing at my in-laws lake house for the next two weeks was worth the 1,000+ mile drive. 🙌🏻We haven’t seen any family since last year and we are so happy to have this time together. Here’s to boat rides, board games, and reading books with a view! While the whole virus thing sucks overall, I’m totally on board with this slower pace of life. 💙

Do you have pets? Ours have been loving all the extra family time this year. ⁣ ⁣ And what a difference seven months makes for a GSD puppy! Theo (right) now has 20+ lbs on Jax (left). ⁣ ⁣ Swipe to see how small Theo was the week we brought him home last November. ⁣ ⁣ He’s now ten months and the only thing about him that still screams puppy is his boundless energy and his awkwardly adorable and oafish saunter. ⁣ ⁣ If we had land, I’d totally be “that crazy GSD dog lady”! ❤️

Hey look, I wore real clothes today!⁣ ⁣ My daughter said, “Mommy! Why are you so fancy today? We usually only ever see you in workout clothes!” 🤣 ⁣ ⁣ Since I got dressed for a grocery store run (yes, I wore a mask), I had to share this maxi dress with you for a few reasons:⁣ ⁣ 🖤 It’s on Amazon Prime and under $30.⁣ 🖤 It may look like a dress but it’s as comfy as my workout clothes.⁣ 🖤 IT. HAS. POCKETS.⁣ 🖤 The fit is super flattering even on “those” days.⁣ 🖤 It is a super soft and stretchy t-shirt like material doesn’t wrinkle so it doesn’t need ironed or steamed. (Fun fact: Things look worse after I iron them than they did before.)⁣ 🖤 It comes in a bunch of patterns and colors. I plead the fifth when it comes to how many of them I own. 🤐⁣ ⁣ Side notes:⁣ 🖤 It would look even better if I put on a proper bra instead of the flimsy yoga one I have on, but that would just be taking things too far right now. 😜⁣ 🖤 I’m 5’9” and it’s not floor length on me like it is on the model, but it’s still long enough to be cute.
