• I saw the phrase "Fail Better" on a sign not long ago and it's really stuck with me. In my mind, a huge part of running a successful small business is not in avoiding failure, but rather in embracing it and learning from it. In that respect, failures aren't failures at all. Mindset plays a huge role in all aspects of your life. I'm a big believer in choosing to look at things in positive light.
💖
I think the below quote from Oprah sums up why I fell in love with the Fail Better phrase.
💖
"Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it."

  • My family arrives here in Germany Saturday morning, so I've been working ahead so I can take next week off to spend time and be touristy with them. 🤗 Today, I'm working on Lesson Ten. It's the lesson you've all been waiting for: 4 Ways to Monetize your Creative Blog. Here's a preview and a huge part of what took my blog income over the six-figure mark.
.
.
I call it "The $300 Money Mindset”. My blog BFF, Kimber (of @ThePinningMama and @EasyFamilyRecipes) was at a conference and texting me tidbits and nuggets of wisdom. This is the one that changed everything for me.
.
.
Don't focus on growing a six-figure per year business. That's incredibly daunting and overwhelming.
.
.
The tip Kimber shared with me: "All it takes to create a six-figure business is to find a way to make $300 per day."
.
.
Let that sink in.
.
.
Doesn't figuring out how to make $300 per day seem so much more doable than figuring out how to make $100,000+ per year? It sure did to me! .
.
Now, let's take that $300 and work backwards. We need to break down exactly where that $300 a day is going to come from. And that's what we'll be doing in Lesson Ten, so stay tuned!

  • There's an eCard that says: "Success is doing what you love and making it a career, but I don't know who will pay me to drink wine while looking at Pinterest." 🤣
One of the best parts about blogging as a business is that Pinterest IS a part of your career...and it has a fabulous return on time investment. It's all about having a strategy. And I'm sharing mine in today's blogging course lesson. Link in profile to head over and read it!

Did you know before this lesson that Pinterest isn't social media?
  • So...the day trip to the Colmar Easter Market was all fun and games (swipe for pics!) until we got back to our car. My youngest started puking and my car wouldn’t start. Tried to jump it. No go. So we got a fancy ride home from the tour bus. Well, almost home...as far as a bus that size can go in Germany. And then we walked. We finally just made it home. I’ll deal with my car tomorrow after a good night of sleep. There is truly a curse in which this stuff only happens when my husband is out of town. I hope you had a happy (and somewhat less eventful) Easter! 😂✝️💐
  • I booked a day trip to the Colmar Easter Market this weekend in France for my kiddos and myself. I’ve been looking at photos of the market online and I can’t wait. It looks so charming. 💐 I personally found Paris a bit overrated but I absolutely adore the smaller towns of France! 💕 This was a photo I snapped in Marseille on last year’s Spring Break. It is the sunniest and driest major city in France. Aaaand it rained on our one day there. 😂 The forecast is calling for rain again but that’s pretty standard here for this time of year. I’ve grown quite the collection of rain boots and hats since we moved to Europe! 🌂 Have you ever been to France? If no, what city would you most like to visit?
