Fresh Eucalyptus All Occasion Tablescape
Flashback to the holidays, we were hosting family for all three holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Two days before Thanksgiving, it occurred to me that maybe I should set a proper table. Amazon to the rescue. This is the tablescape I managed to throw together super quickly and inexpensively.
It’s become my go-to table setting anytime we host dinner guests. It is beautiful for any occasion thanks to timeless textures and fresh greenery.
Tablescape Supplies
- Ruffled Tablecloth
- Natural Table Runner
- Two Bunches of Fresh Eucalyptus (see note below)
- Water Hyacinth Placemats
- Cloth Napkins
- Rustic Wood Napkin Rings
- Statement Wine Goblets ( This set I used is super cheap!)
- Flameless Flickering Candles
- Optional: Mini Chalkboards on Mini Easels. I only use these for place cards when it’s a super special occasion, but they look so cute on this tablescape.
You’ll also need utensils and dinner Plates, of course. Mine are the same ones we’ve had since I got married nearly 13 years ago. They’re from William-Sonoma. I’m so glad I went with a super basic white dishware set. It works for everyday use and special occasions.
I’d love cuter silverware, but all the fancy looking stuff requires handwashing, and I’m all “no thank you!” to that. So basic silverware it is!
All the exact supplies I used for the tablescape in this post are linked below.

Finding Fresh Eucalyptus
My local grocery (Publix) always carries it, so it’s easy to grab while I’m grocery shopping. If yours doesn’t, ask the florist in the grocery. Ours are super happy to special order things, but you can always visit a local “regular” florist as well.
The type of eucalyptus they have on hand varies, but it’s usually a mixed bunch, so I go with whatever I can find. Mine usually has Baby Blue mixed with Silver Dollar, but this time they had Baby Blue mixed with Seeded Euc. They’re all lovely!
Not only does fresh eucalyptus look and smell fantastic, but the Baby Blue kind also looks great dried. I keep it uses it as vase filler around the house. It looks fresh but I don’t have to remember to water it, score!
Setting the Table
This is probably self-explanatory but here are the steps, anyhow!
- Lay the tablecloth over your table.
- Add the table runner and placemats.
- Spread out the fresh eucalyptus gong from the center out along the table runner.
- Place one plate on each placemat and top with the napkin in a napkin ring.
- Then, add the flameless flickering candles.
- Finally, set out the wine glasses and silverware.
Fresh Eucalyptus All Occasion Tablescape: Photos Galore
I took nearly 200 photos for this post, and after several hours of choosing and editing, narrowed it down to roughly fifteen, so I’m going to stop “talking” at this point and let the pics speak for themselves.
Side note: I linked my dining room wall planks in the “Shop the Post” widgets in the supplies section and at the bottom of this post (or you can check them out here)! The chandelier is from the Barrington line by Kichler lighting.
